The wrong kind of long weekend

Last weekend, Wayne and I got pretty sick. I thought I had food poisoning, but when Wayne started to feel ill we started guessing it was some kind of stomach bug. Whatever it was, we were downright miserable and the weekend seemed to drag on for an eternity. Feeling lightheaded and exhausted made taking care of Corinne challenging, but we did quite well under the circumstances. Thankfully Corinne was healthy and happy and pretty easygoing through the whole ordeal.

We’re back to our usual selves and managed to have a pretty decent week. Wayne got a lot accomplished at work and Corinne and I kept busy with errands and outings. Yesterday’s outing included a visit to the Little Farm in the Tilden Nature area with my moms group. It was great fun letting the babies watch the chickens, roosters, geese, cows, goats, and sheep as they wandered about.

Wayne’s new grill finally arrived, just in time for the holiday weekend. I’m sure we will do what we can to ensure that this is the right kind of long weekend, one that involves grilled food, a little extra sleep, and not getting sick.

Happy fourth, everyone!
