Now that I am a father, I spend a lot more time analyzing the things I do and how they might be perceived by my daughter. I am constantly teaching her things whether I like it or not, and so I need to be cognizant of what my lessons are. For me, this means drinking less beer and having a more active lifestyle. I drink very little these days, and I try to go jogging three times a week.
On Friday, Corinne asked if she could go running with me. That’s great! So Sunday we got dressed up in “running” outfits, put on our sneakers, and jogged the loop around the baseball diamond and soccer fileds in the park across the street. We did the loop twice, and in the end we jogged/walked about half a mile. She did a great job, and we had a lot of fun.
As the weather warms up, my hope is I can get her outside jogging and riding bicycles with me more and more. The goal is not distance or duration. The goal is to get outside, get some exercise, and have fun.
