Raelene, Corinne, and I had another good weekend. On Saturday Raelene took a phone screen class for Mickaboo, and is now an official phone screener. What does that mean? Well, the Mickaboo bird adoption process is fairly thorough. First you take a free bird care class, then you talk to a volunteer on the phone, and if that goes well then a volunteer comes to your house. Raelene now knows what to ask about and what to listen for when talking to someone on the phone, and I’m sure this will with the occasional home visit we do as well. With a baby in the house we can’t do a lot for Mickaboo these days, but it’s awesome that Raelene is at least going to try to do this. Thank you Raelene, the birds appreciate it. 🙂
On Sunday I played in my Godlike game, and it was a lot of fun. My character’s super power is heightened senses, so he spent most of the session at the highest point on the hill directing US artillery fire and RAF air strikes on Nazi positions. We were only able to get through about half of the battle, which was fine because there was a lot of cool character development happening (including a tense moment between my character who wanted to shell the Nazi command post despite the fact that US officers were being held prisoner in a nearby building, and another player’s character who was running the radio and did not want to chance killing US soldiers). There was some really great stuff in the game. We ended with the Germans getting ready to take the hill, and so next session my character’s ablity to hear and see and smell at superhuman levels probably wont help him much, it will be up to characters with more offensive superpowers to take the spotlight. I imagine several characters will die next session.
Happy Monday!
