Back to normal

Okay, October and Veganmofo are over, and the dust from the move is starting to settle, so hopefully we can get back to more regular updates. Here’s a quick summary of the past couple of weeks.

Veganmofo 2009 was a lot of fun. We missed our target of 20 blog posts, but I think we did fairly well given we were without internet for over a week. I look forward to doing it again next October.

I caught a nasty chest cold and gave it to Raelene, and we’re both just now getting over it. I think Corinne had it as well because for a few days she was sounding congested, but if she did it didn’t seem to hit her as hard as either Raelene or myself. I’m very grateful for that.

Corinne is continuing to develop mentally and physically, and amazes me every day. She is sleeping better now that she has her own room. I’m still up a handful of times every night with her, but she is fighting going to bed less and in the middle of the night falls back to sleep easier. The recent time change has thrown things off somewhat, but I’m confident we’ll get them back on track again.

My monthly Godlike game ended with the liberation of Paris. It was an amazing game with some truly top notch gamers, and I feel lucky to have been a part of it.

Halloween was a lot of fun. We dressed Corinne up as a flower and took her to an afternoon Halloween party. She had a lot of fun playing with the other children, and I had fun being able to stand back and talk to other adults while watching her play. Normally she wants to interact solely with mommy and daddy, so for me at least this was something new. Our baby is growing up. 🙂 By the time we got home from the party Corinne was done with her flower costume, so we dressed her up as an owl when it was time to go trick or treating. We visited a half dozen houses on our block, met some new neighbors, and watched Corinne try to figure out what she was supposed to be doing. She got walking up to the door just fine, and seemed to realize she wasn’t supposed to go inside, but the big bowl full of brightly colored packages was a complete mystery. I predict things will be very different next year though.

The new house is awesome, totally awesome. We love the neighborhood, and we especially love not being where we were. We feel so much, safer. It’s a good feeling, one that I can get used to. 🙂
