The Coburn Family Website

Busy yet fun weekend.

The weekend was insanely busy but also quite fun.

On Saturday we attended the wedding of one of Raelene’s Moms Group friends. It was a beautiful ceremony at a picnic area in Tilden Park in the Berkeley hills, with a reception and party immediately following. There were bubbles and hula hoops and tons of kids of all ages, and it was a lot of fun. I find I really enjoy weddings that are less formal and more like a giant family reunion party (which they essentially are). Congratulations Scott and Maria!

Also congratulations to Steve and Sarah, who got married on Saturday as well!

And Happy Birthday to Nate, who turned (censored) on Saturday!

That night I went to the Good Omens Con and had a blast playing Houses of the Blooded. When it first came out I realized that HotB was something special, and it quickly became one of my favorite games I’d never played. Now I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite games that I have played. 🙂 The system isn’t perfect; a  complaint someone had was that you either had too many or too few dice, and I tend to agree with that. But overall the whole idea of rolling for privilege and a player driven plot was awesome. If I could be playing in a weekly HotB game, I would be.

The ants are back, so on Sunday we did a bunch of cleaning to make sure ever bit of everything dropped by the parrot, dog, or toddler was cleaned up. That evening we watched a friend’s toddler so her parents could go out on a romantic date. We did the sitting at the friend’s house, and Corinne was tired and not feeling all that well. Unfortunately she ended up having a meltdown, and screamed pretty much continuously until our friends returned home. It was hard on both baby and Dad, but we got through it okay. 🙂 The nice thing is Corinne seems to have completely forgotten about it, which is one of the wonderful side effects of a toddler’s (lack of) memory.

That’s it for now. Have a good week!
