Buy Nothing Day

It’s been a very quiet Buy Nothing Day for us, and given the trampling death at WalMart and the shootings at Toys-R-Us that is fine with me. I think I am going to continue the tradition of honoring “Buy Nothing Day.”

Thanksgiving was equally quiet. Raelene came down with a nasty cold Wednesday night, so we ended up cancelling our Thanksgiving plans. Instead I improvised a vegan dinner at home, with “wheat meat” turkey sausages, roasted root vegetables, mashed potatoes, and vegan gravy. Not bad for the last minute and using only ingredients on hand. Corinne had butternut squash for her first Thanksgiving meal, and she seemed to enjoy it. It would have been fun to see our friends, but overall it was a good day. And by not going out, Raelene and I were able to take the time to think about all the things we are thankful about.

Today I spent some time liberating two months worth of photos from our digital cameras. Check the the updated galleries.
