The Coburn Family Website

On this Day…

In 1881, the American Red Cross was founded.
In 1901, the first speed limit was enacted in the US. The limit? 12MPH
In 1927, Charles Lindbergh landed in France after completing the 1st non-stop transatlantic flight.

In 2007, I’m writing this blog entry.
Yes, I know, that’s bit of a let down after those last few entries.

The past weekend was fairly quiet. It’s allergy season, and things are warming up, so Raelene and I were careful about going out. We did go to the Pinole farmers market on Saturday and bought a lot of yummy vegetables. For dinner on Saturday I made some homemade pasta, thick strips of linguine, that we had with some fresh baked farmers market bread and some tomato sauce. On Sunday we went for a walk around a small lake in Point Richmond, enjoying the sunshine and wind and all the nearly fledged geese, and had grilled vegetables with tequila lime tofu for dinner. For years I thought that tofu was tofu, and that I didn’t like tofu. But there really are variations in quality, and the good stuff can be quite good while the stuff you buy at the supermarket is nasty. Life is too short to eat nasty tofu, right? Right. 🙂
